Anadolu Sigorta Case Study
Anadolu Sigorta worked with Webtures on a programme that treated organic search and generative AI visibility as one problem rather than two. Founded on 1 April 1925 as Turkey's first national insurer, the company was never chasing traffic alone. Whether an answer on coverage or claims comes from the insurer's own pages shapes trust and sits inside a strict regulatory frame.
Why Anadolu Sigorta needed SEO and GEO support
Four structural challenges specific to insurance shaped the brief.
- Coverage detail locked inside PDFs. General terms and disclosure forms live largely as PDFs. When cover, exclusions and deductibles are not surfaced as HTML, third-party publishers fill the gap and become the cited source.
- Entity clarity. Anadolu Sigorta (1925, non-life) is a separate legal entity from Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik, Anadolu Efes and Anadolubank, and its direct shareholder is Milli Reasürans T.A.Ş. with 57.31 per cent. Generative engines merge such entities, so the distinction had to be learnable from the brand's own content.
- Dense local presence. Roughly 3,150 agencies mean thousands of separate listings. Inconsistent use of the brand name across them produces business-data drift and agency-level cannibalisation of brand queries.
- Comparison platforms hold a structural advantage. On quote-led queries the user wants several offers, not one. Those platforms serve that intent better by design, so the ground an insurer wins is the information layer beneath the choice.
Goals set for the Anadolu Sigorta project
The programme aimed to surface the brand's own sources on decision-stage queries, make group company relationships machine-readable, serve local intent from the agency network, and strengthen presence in AI-assisted results. Each goal carried its regulatory boundary: SEDDK supervision, Insurance Law numbered 5684 and Article 25 of Turkey's advertising regulation. Because insurance falls under YMYL Financial Security, author identity and update dates were baseline requirements, not polish.
How Webtures approached SEO and GEO for Anadolu Sigorta
Webtures applied a strategy combining technical SEO, content optimisation and generative visibility. The premise is simple: there is no separate mechanism for appearing in generative answers. Being indexable and snippet-eligible is the precondition for being cited.
Technical SEO and AI accessibility
Crawlability and indexability were reviewed so that search engines and AI systems could parse the content reliably. The clearest gap was document format: policy terms held only in PDF stay invisible to generative answers unless the same substance exists as quotable HTML. The work built a summary layer alongside the policy document, then extended into page experience and structured data.
Content and semantic authority
Content was developed around the questions people put to search engines and AI assistants. In insurance these split between understanding a policy and using one: motor liability versus comprehensive cover, whether earthquake insurance is mandatory, how complementary health cover interacts with state provision, how to file a claim. Answering them in passages that read correctly out of context matters as much to a reader as to a model choosing what to cite. On tariff pages, currency came before volume.
GEO and AI visibility
Work was carried out to strengthen presence across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. A category-specific question set was defined, generative answers were monitored, and questions where the brand was cited were separated from those where it was not. Gaps counted as content gaps. Entity accuracy was tracked on the same cycle: whether an answer confused Anadolu Sigorta with Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik was itself a quality signal. Measurement relied on the Generative AI performance report in Search Console.
Experience and conversion
Page structures and journeys were arranged so visitors could reach what they needed and act on it. The moment of highest urgency is not the quote screen but the claim, so claim notification, the loss adjuster process and policy lookup were handled as mobile-first surfaces. On quote journeys the aim was not a shorter form but better ordered information.
What was carried out in the Anadolu Sigorta project
Webtures delivered work across technical SEO, content architecture, structured data and GEO:
- Crawl and indexation audit, including verification of generative crawler access
- A quotable HTML summary layer for policy terms held in PDF
- Question-led content architecture with context-independent answer passages
- Freshness and compliance review of pages carrying tariff information
- Group company and brand entity relationships clarified through structured data
- Consistent business data across the agency network, with local cannibalisation resolved
- Author and update-date layer for YMYL, plus question-set monitoring of generative surfaces
What the SEO and GEO work delivered
The programme was tracked across three reinforcing layers rather than a single number: organic search performance, local visibility across the agency network, and citation in generative answers. The frame combined Search Console, analytics and regular review of the question set.
Organic traffic and search visibility
Coverage of informational queries on protection, exclusions and claims was widened, and tariff pages were brought to the currency the regulation expects. Search visibility was reported by query intent rather than volume alone.
Visibility across AI platforms
Generative answers to the insurance question set were monitored, tracking separately where the brand was cited and where it was absent. The second axis was factual: whether answers reflected the correct company, founding year and ownership.
The outcome of the Anadolu Sigorta and Webtures partnership
The strategy addressed organic search performance and AI-assisted visibility together. Where regulation standardises the language, differentiation comes not from the promise but from how clearly the data and the process are explained. A record running back to 1925 was treated as what it is: a trust signal no competitor can copy.
