Be one of the first brands to advertise inside ChatGPT.

When Google AdWords opened in 2000, the early movers dominated the market for years. ChatGPT Ads in Türkiye is at exactly that point today: the channel just opened, competition is thin, inventory is not yet saturated, and the recommended starting bid in e-commerce is 3-5 dollars. Webtures runs the whole process from setup to feed, from campaigns to measurement, and builds the organic SI visibility that advertising cannot buy, all under one roof.

Is this for you?

If any of these sounds familiar, you are in the right place.

  1. 01Your audience researches in ChatGPT and you have no paid presence there.
  2. 02You want to enter a new ad surface early, but the measurement and budget framework is unclear.
  3. 03Cost per click on search ads has climbed and you are looking for an alternative channel.

For the first time in 25 years, search is being rewritten.

Users no longer scan ten blue links. They ask, get an answer, and decide. On that journey your brand is either inside the answer or nowhere. On 9 February 2026 OpenAI placed ads in ChatGPT. The channel passed 1 billion dollars in annualised revenue in under 200 days and opened in more than 50 countries; Google AdWords took four years to reach that mark. On 17 September 2026 Türkiye joined the list, and by the end of September self-serve access had reached 63 countries with Southeast Asia and Taiwan. This is not an experiment; it is the birth of a channel.

01

The window is closing

The recommended starting bid is 3-5 dollars in e-commerce and 8-18 dollars in software and finance. On Google, the same-intent B2B searches can exceed 250 dollars. The number of advertisers grew about 43% month over month from May to August; the gap is closing. Early movers finish the learning curve before their rivals do.

02

Ads cannot buy the organic

OpenAI's Answer Independence principle is clear: advertisers cannot shape, rank or alter ChatGPT's answers. ChatGPT recommending your brand cannot be bought; that is entirely GEO/AEO work. Anyone who runs the two channels separately loses on both.

03

Türkiye is now in scope

On 17 September 2026, Türkiye was added to Ads Manager's self-serve access list. Accounts are billed in dollars, the daily minimum budget is 25 dollars, and the interface is in Turkish. Ads are shown only to Free and Go plan users aged 18 and over. The brand whose feed, measurement and creative are ready starts learning from week one.

What is Webtures ChatGPT Ads Management?

ChatGPT Ads is not a classic PPC channel. There are no keywords, only context hints. There is no quality score, only a relevance-weighted second-price auction. View-through conversions are reported only with a one-day window, and there are no brand lift or incrementality tools. So the Google Ads playbook does not transfer one to one; you have to learn the channel by running it, and learning it on a client's budget gets expensive. What we sell is not a campaign setup; it is an integrated system spanning account, feed, creative, measurement, organic SI visibility and ad relevance signal.

01

Access and setup

Türkiye-based account opening, business verification, separate account, brand and legal names, a dollar-denominated billing profile, team authorisation and payment configuration. For brands targeting markets abroad, we work out the right account country together; that choice is permanent and cannot be undone.

02

Strategy and context architecture

Purchase-intent map, context-hint clusters, campaign and ad-group hierarchy, negative-context management. We design, systematically, which conversation themes you want to appear in.

03

Creative production

Ad-card copy, 128x128 favicon production, image variants, an A/B test matrix and landing-page matching. Brand name, favicon, headline, body, image and destination URL all work together in a single card.

04

Product feed and commerce

A catalogue that matches the OpenAI Commerce feed specification, management of the ad-eligibility flag (is_ads_eligible), SFTP upload, GTIN, price and stock hygiene, and ChatGPT Shopping compliance.

05

Measurement infrastructure

Conversions API and pixel setup, programmatic reporting through the Insights API, UTM taxonomy, GA4 and data-warehouse integration, and geo-holdout tests. Since the platform does not yet offer incrementality, we measure incremental impact with our own test design.

06

GEO/AEO integration

The organic SI visibility ads cannot buy: entity building, fact-dense content, structured data, citation gains and multi-engine visibility tracking. For detail, see our Generative Engine Optimization work and our SI Visibility Web Design service.

Advertising buys visibility. It cannot buy the recommendation.

This is the most critical point in understanding ChatGPT Ads. OpenAI's principle is firm: advertisers cannot shape, rank or alter ChatGPT's answers. The model is not even aware an ad exists unless you ask; when you do, it gives a fully neutral assessment and may even criticise the advertiser's product.

What advertising gives you

  • 01A sponsored card below the answer
  • 02Measurable clicks and conversions
  • 03Instant visibility
  • 04Presence that toggles with budget
  • 05A controlled message

What advertising cannot give you

  • 01A brand recommendation inside the answer
  • 02ChatGPT recommending you
  • 03Authority and perceived trust
  • 04Lasting, compounding presence
  • 05A place in comparison lists

The right column is entirely GEO/AEO work, and the two sides feed each other: clean structured data, strong entity signals and fact-dense content raise both organic mentions and your ad relevance score. As relevance rises you win more impressions on the same budget; a well-written, lower-bid ad can beat a weak, higher-bid one. Webtures runs both with the same team and the same data set. Split them across separate teams and the multiplier effect disappears.

Can you advertise on ChatGPT from Türkiye? Yes. Here is where things stand.

As of 17 September 2026, businesses based in Türkiye can open a self-serve account in OpenAI Ads Manager Beta (ads.openai.com). The account setup asks for a legal business name, website and industry; country is Türkiye, time zone is Istanbul, currency is dollars; these three settings cannot be changed later. The name entered at signup fills the account, brand and legal name fields, which can then be edited separately in Settings > General: a brand name change pauses serving until the new name is approved, and a legal name change restarts business review. The daily minimum budget is 25 dollars. There are three objectives: views (CPM), clicks (CPC) and conversions (oCPC, oCPM). Text and image formats are supported; video is not yet available. Access is a beta: ads go live only in approved categories and after a policy review; political ads are banned, and finance and health need additional approval.

Option A

Advertising to the Türkiye market

A Türkiye account reaches Turkish users on the Free and Go plans. Targeting works by country and device, custom audiences from an email or phone list, and context hints. Critical warning: the account country is permanent and cannot be undone. Make this decision with us.

Option B

What advertising cannot buy: organic SI visibility

The ad card appears below the answer; being mentioned inside the answer cannot be bought. Users on Plus and higher plans never see an ad at all. The only way to reach that audience is organic visibility earned through content authority, entity strength and structured data.

Option C

Controlled pilot

We set up the pixel and Conversions API, the feed and the creative library, and start with a single high-intent theme. While your competitors are still learning how to open an account, you already know which context cluster works.

What we measure, and how we measure what the platform cannot

Measurement on ChatGPT Ads is maturing fast: the LiveRamp CAPI Hub connection arrived in June 2026, and automatic advanced matching became the default on 17 August; at the end of September one-day view-through reporting arrived and the Insights API started returning attributed conversions beyond the campaign goal. Still, brand lift and independent incrementality remain the channel's weakest side. To avoid flying blind, we add our own measurement layer on top of the in-platform metrics.

The layer we add

  • 01Geo-holdout tests: incremental impact via a geographic control group
  • 02Server-side conversions: Conversions API measurement resilient to cookie loss
  • 03UTM taxonomy: clean channel separation in your own analytics stack
  • 04Blended CPA tracking: judging the channel within the total marketing mix
  • 05SI visibility score: non-ad organic mention rate, tracked monthly

The monthly Webtures report

  • 01Campaign performance: impressions, clicks, CPC, CPA, ROAS
  • 02Context-hint performance: which clusters get delivery
  • 03Creative performance and rotation recommendations
  • 04Feed health: approval rate and rejection reasons
  • 05Multi-engine organic SI visibility score
  • 06Competitor share-of-voice change and next-month priority list

Media spend is not included in the service fee and is paid directly to OpenAI. The model is postpay; ads are billed after they run. When a card is added, your bank may show a temporary authorisation hold; it is not a charge and is released after verification. For meaningful learning, the recommended minimum media budget is 5,000 dollars (B2B) to 15,000 dollars (e-commerce) over 90 days.

The channel changed, the problem stayed the same.

01

Since 2011, one focus: visibility

We have built search visibility since 2011. The channel moved from Google to ChatGPT; the problem stayed the same: is your brand inside the answer or not?

ChatGPT Ads is at exactly the point Google AdWords was at in 2000. But with one difference this time: advertising cannot buy ChatGPT recommending you. The recommendation has to be earned. A brand that does not do both loses on both.
Kaan Gülten · CEO, Webtures

Frequently asked,
carefully answered.

01

Can you advertise on ChatGPT from Türkiye?

Yes. As of 17 September 2026, businesses based in Türkiye can open a self-serve account in OpenAI Ads Manager Beta. Accounts are billed in dollars, the daily minimum budget is 25 dollars, and the interface is in Turkish. Access is still in beta: ads go live only in approved categories and after a policy review. The account country is permanent and cannot be changed later.

02

How much do ChatGPT ads cost?

OpenAI recommends a starting CPC bid of 3 to 5 dollars in e-commerce, rising to 8 to 18 dollars in software and finance. The default maximum CPM bid is 60 dollars; as inventory has grown, realised rates have settled into the 25 to 45 dollar range. Since May 2026 the self-serve panel has had no minimum total spend requirement; the daily minimum budget is 25 dollars.

03

Can advertising make ChatGPT recommend my brand?

No. Under OpenAI's stated principle, advertisers cannot shape, rank or alter ChatGPT's answers. Ads run in systems separate from the answer, and the model is not aware an ad exists unless you ask. ChatGPT recommending your brand is earned only through organic SI visibility, that is GEO/AEO work.

04

Where do ads appear in ChatGPT?

Ads appear below the end of a ChatGPT answer, with a Sponsored label. The ad card contains a brand name, favicon, headline, body text, image and destination link. Typically a single ad is shown per conversation.

05

Which users see ads?

Only signed-in users aged 18 and over on the Free and Go plans. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans are ad-free. No ads are shown in temporary chats or the Atlas browser.

06

Does ChatGPT Ads have keyword targeting?

No. Instead of keywords it uses context hints: free-text phrases defined at ad-group level that describe the conversation themes where your product or service may be relevant. They are not exact matches and do not guarantee delivery.

07

Can advertisers see my ChatGPT conversations?

No. Advertisers cannot access user conversations, chat history, memories, name, email, precise location or IP. They receive only aggregated, de-identified performance data. OpenAI does not sell user data to advertisers.

08

Which industries cannot advertise on ChatGPT?

Under the launch policy, prohibited categories include adult content and dating, alcohol and tobacco, counterfeit goods, crypto and debt/credit services, gambling, prescription drugs and health claims, legal services, political content and unproven wellness claims. Financial services, healthcare and legal are open only to approved advertisers via case-by-case manual review.

09

Will ChatGPT Ads replace Google Ads?

No, at least not today. The channel's volume is far below Google Search. The right positioning treats ChatGPT Ads as a complementary, high-intent channel rather than a replacement. Early Criteo data suggests ChatGPT-referred users convert at roughly 1.5 times the rate of other channels.

10

How do you measure results?

Conversion tracking via the Conversions API and pixel, analytics integration through a UTM taxonomy, and incremental-impact measurement with geo-holdout tests. The LiveRamp CAPI Hub connection arrived in June 2026 and automatic advanced matching became the default in August, and at the end of September one-day view-through reporting and Insights API reporting on conversions beyond the campaign goal followed; even so, the platform does not yet offer brand lift or incrementality measurement, so we complete that layer with our own measurement design.

11

How much budget should I start with?

For meaningful learning we recommend a media budget of 5,000 to 15,000 dollars over 60 to 90 days. Below that, statistically reliable results become difficult. There is no minimum total spend requirement on the platform side; the daily minimum budget is 25 dollars.

12

When will I see results?

First impressions begin 6 to 7 weeks after setup. The first meaningful performance review comes after 30 days, and the scaling decision at the end of 90 days. Context hints take longer to learn than Google Ads; judging the channel on the first 30 days of data is a common mistake.

13

What do I need to open a Türkiye account?

A legal business name, business website and industry. Country is set to Türkiye, time zone to Istanbul and currency to dollars; these three settings cannot be changed later and billing runs in dollars. The name entered at signup fills the account, brand and legal name fields, which can be edited separately in Settings > General once the account exists. A brand name change pauses serving until the new name is approved; a legal name change restarts business review. A payment method is then added, and the pixel and Conversions API are set up. Political ads are banned; finance and healthcare categories need additional approval. We also recommend running organic SI visibility (GEO/AEO) work alongside your ads, since users on Plus and higher plans never see ads.

14

Can my own team learn to run this?

Yes, we support that. The Enterprise package includes setup, training and a playbook handover; your team reaches a level to take over operations within 90 days. We can continue in a consulting model after handover.
